Euphoric Threads – Meet The Designer – Series I
Euphoric Threads founder and designer, Laura Griffith gives you a snippet into her crazy background in textiles, travel and all things euphoric in our MEET THE DESIGNER blog series – as part of the Indie Roller Instagram challenge – ‘BE YOU’.
Hello euphoric followers from far and wide! 👋🏼 That’s me Laura, ☝🏼(right) I am the founder of Euphoric Threads.
This month I joined in on the lovely little Instagram challenge by Indie Roller so I could introduce myself and my fashion label .. and share with you a little insight into how and why I started this company …
For those of you that know me already.. if I’m not sewing your orders .. basking and surfing at the beach, I’m usually at a festival or some sort of party (.. pre pandemic) 🎉🤸🏻♂️This is my PASSION!
“From surfing waves to dancing at raves, I want to bring euphoric colour to your life! ” ♡
Bit o’ my background…
Euphoric Threads was actually my eBay user name in 2004 when I started selling my second hand colourful garms at the age of 13 … (the name has stuck with me since!) .. it basically means HAPPY CLOTHES! ✌🏼
I went went to Fashion School when I was 18, then landed my first job in Sri Lanka as a guest Textile Designer for @aod_design in 2012, that’s where I caught the caught the “travel bug” and I STILL haven’t settled !
( Check out my early travels in Sri Lanka here )
〰️
I have worked MANY jobs before Euphoric Threads.. trust me. Some memorable ones; I was a freelance print designer in Sydney, an innovation researcher for a retail trend forecasting agency in London, and I lived in Fiji marketing for an amazing eco-tourism company @islandspiritexperiences .. (PLUS I’ve been a potato picker on a farm🥔, pumpkin planter, print factory worker, coral gardener🐠, tent erector⛺️, stewardess on super yachts⛵️, I mean the list goes on, lets go for a drink one day I will tell you all!…)
〰️
After a decade of travelling the globe, surfing and working in exotic places.. I finally found my way back into fashion when I moved back to Bristol in 2018 and started making my friends colourful rash vests for surfing. (I LOVE surfing and playing in the seaaaa!🏄🏻♀️) I actually grew up on the Jurassic Dorset coast. It’s a corker ! Surrounded by exotic plants and flowers, I was heavily inspired by my Dad’s botanising travels around the world and his lifetime of managing historic @abbotsburysubtropicalgardens – hence the obsession with Birds of Paradise plants and Palm Trees! 🌴🌺

I want to empower women with happy colourful prints and multi-functional activewear that doesn’t cost the earth. So Euphoric Threads was born! Tropical eco garms for Waves and Raves ✌🏼♻️ 🎉🤸🏻♂️🌴🌺🌊
